“It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.” unknown

Case 2009 litter, was killed working cattle on his family”s farm on 5/4/2011.  As sad as this is, Case was doing his job – and what he was bred to do. A working dog is at higher risk, but it does not make it any easier as they become part of the family.  My condolences to the family.  photo by Summerland Photography

1/2017  I have learned that Ella, Roxie/Cash 2009, has been lost to non-hereditary cancer. She lived in Whitehorse, Yukon and will be missed dearly.  Hopefully her owner, Cory, will be matched to a 2017 Maplebrook Farm puppy.

Sherie~ That is such a beautiful way to help accept when we lose one of our beloved puppies/dogs. Thank you for sharing. So sorry for what happened to Case. I have lost pups that I have placed too and it makes you feel so helpless. Cathy @ Vine Hill Farm in OH
